Ten Years of ISMU Prize for the Best African Short Film

This will be the tenth anniversary of Ismu Prize, the award given by a jury of teachers to the best short film with intercultural value presented in the competitive section of short films by African directors as part of the Festival of African, Asian and Latin American Cinema, promoted by the COE Associatiion.

Since 2006, a jury of 20 school teachers from different grades, sees, discusses and chooses, at the ISMU Foundation CEDOC – Documentation Centre, the selected short films. After reasoned assessment and shared observations, the ISMU jury expresses and motivates a judgment on the film that is considered the most suitable for a specific intercultural educational path in schools.

The ISMU prize is given to the director during the awards ceremony of the Festival.(sito festival) The award allows the Italian edition of the film in DVD format to be released and to be distributed in the circuit of the COE. The selected movie is part of the catalogue and archive of the COE CEDOC film, where you can watch it and request teaching and educational activities.

Since 2006, there have been ten winners of the short film prize ISMU – which is precious for quaIity cinema and teaching experience, both for teachers and professionals who want to promote intercultural education in school and in educational contexts.
